The Chicago-based Starbucks coffee chain plans to open a restaurant on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus in 2018, the company said in a statement Wednesday.
The news comes just a day after the company also said it would open a Starbucks in the U.K. this year, which the company described as a “first for the ULS community.”
“Starbucks has long been recognized as the leading coffee destination in the world, and we’re excited to continue that momentum here in Lafayette, Louisiana,” Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said in the statement.
“Lafayette is known for its vibrant community and vibrant culture, and the Starbucks campus offers an unparalleled setting for our employees to enjoy coffee and enjoy the world they love.”
