How to fix Twitter’s ads and other ads that aren’t real
Posted On July 10, 2021
Hacker News article Twitter is known for its ad-free services, but the social media giant has been trying to make some inroads into the ad-buying world for some time.
Recently, it announced a new ad-blocking service that lets users opt to receive targeted ads from brands with a lower-than-normal number of retweets.
While that service is only available in a limited number of markets, the announcement is likely to lead to more companies looking into a more ad-friendly approach.
For now, though, Twitter’s new ad solution is only for the U.S., where it’s only available through its own ad network, Twitter Ads.
Users in Canada can sign up for the service here, but there’s currently no U.K. or German support.
We asked Twitter about the service’s availability in the U, but have yet to receive a response.
