DALLAS — A truck driver who died after being struck by a truck in Springfield, Mo., on Tuesday was a regular customer at a restaurant catering to the homeless, his family said.
Catering trucks, including a popular chain, have been known to hit pedestrians and cyclists and other motorists.
In one case in December, a driver struck a cyclist who was crossing the street with his motorcycle.
In April, a woman in South Bend, Ind., was killed after being dragged along the side of the road by a driver who was speeding.
Police have said that the driver who struck the 24-year-old, who was homeless, may have been under the influence of drugs.
