A new report from Texas Economic DDA shows the Texas catering company will open in Austin this fall, but that it has not yet begun formal business planning.
The company plans to employ nearly 300 people, the report says.
The company, called Texas Catering, plans to be the first Texas-owned company to open its doors to catering companies, according to the report.
The Texas DDA has hired more than 400 people since launching its program in October 2018, it said.
The agency also says the company plans on hiring more than 150 new workers in the next two years.
The group is seeking to hire 20 full-time employees in the Austin area.
The new hiring will be done through staffing and contracting services, according the report, which was filed with the Texas Secretary of State’s Office on Tuesday.
The state’s new economy department is responsible for setting standards for Texas businesses, including the creation of business incubators, opening food trucks, and opening food kitchens.
It is expected to open the first of a planned series of food-truck incubators and food-cooking centers, which are expected to provide funding and training to small businesses in the region, the agency said.
